((Since there are two accepted charries, I'd thought I'd start an RP! Behold, MoJ's first RP! )) A dark blur raced through the treetops of Hi no Kuni that would have been unnoticeable if anyone had been around to testify to the fact. Dark grey eyes beamed with exhilaration and pure, raw joy and scanned the quickly passing surroundings, darting in each direction. Riding the wave of adrenaline that she was on, Hikaru accelerated even more and with a leap, jumped through the middle of a large flock of colorful birds, which flew away in a cloud, her tawny companion following close behind. The sound of rushing water reached the Chuunin's ears. She looked over at the large lion beside her, the mischievous gleam in her eyes reflected in his own. They had been out in Fire Country for the past few days, following the tradition of countless Shimetsuki heirs before them, forming the vital bond between lion and human, each learning from one another, living off the land that they were sworn to protect. They reached the rushing river way, both rushed to the center and ran downstream on the surface. Mist dampened the duo. Ahead the water suddenly ended, indicating a waterfall of moderate size judging from the noise, a grand chance for fun. Hikaru dove over the edge, arms extended to form a dive, Kyouto close behind. Hikaru submersed underwater and noticed her companion was still overhead. Typical cat, not liking water... She swam toward the surface effortlessly, glad that her sword sheath was waterproof. She pulled herself up on the surface and climbed onto Kyouto's back, ready for whatever the world threw at her.

((Ooh, I feel so...lucky.....))
Which at that point happened to be a kunai. Sakura saw the girl and threw it behind her head in a single fluid movement, before calmly walking over and scrutinizing the pair. Hikaru was the same as usual - dark grey eyes, jet black hair, scar on the wrist - but today she'd brought her companion along. How quaint. Bending down, she extended a hand to stroke the almost flaxen haired animal.
"Hey Hikaru..." She muttered, totally submerged in her current task - checking the animal for injury. Giving it a rest, she stood up and retrieved her kunai. Smiling cheerily and sauntering back, she greeted the other kunoichi again. "Hey Hikaru. What's with the..." Sakura looked down. "Wild animal? I suppose it's a clan thing. The bonding, I take it? Well, I heard you have to make sure the animal isn't injured. Want me to take a peek?" She stretched up and ruffled the girls hair playfully. Then she bent down and smiled at the lion, holding her hand out in an offering of trust.
Seriously, get away from it. It'll do something scary and EAT YOU!!!
No, it won't! Look, it's just a lion. And....Hikaru's there! She'll protect us if the lion goes haywire.
Yeah....whatever.... Inner Sakura rolled her eyes.
Sakura just groaned.

Hikaru perked up at the sound of the kunai, but registered it as a greeting instead of a threat. A cherry-colored head appeared out of the surroundings that had become somewhat familiar over the years. As Sakura stroked Kyouto, he purred slightly. Hikaru raised her scarred eyebrow just slightly, surprised since he usually didn't take an immediate liking to outsiders, but glad for it. "Heya Sakura." Kyouto almost looked disappointed when she went to retrieve the kunai. The duo left the river and went to dry land. Hikaru rolled her right shoulder to work off a small sore as Sakura returned and smiled as the girl asked her questions. "You mean Kyouto? Yeah, it's a clan thing. It's tradition for clan heirs to go on a bonding trek for at least a few days with their summons to get to know each other better and build trust. It helps out a lot with fusion techniques." Hikaru thought a minute before answering the last part of the question, leaving enough of a gap for Sakura to reach up high and ruffle her hair. Hikaru didn't pull away--she honestly liked such things, even if she didn't always admit it. "Well, if Kyouto agrees, I don't see why not. Are you fine with that Kyou-chan?" Kyouto just blew some of his small mane out of his eyes. "Sure, why not." Hikaru hoped that Sakura wasn't afraid of talking lions, not wanting to scare her away.

Sakura raised an eyebrow when she heared a baritone voice emit from the lions mouth. Noting her friends worry, she smiled up at her, her hair swinging slightly as she tilted her head to one side. "Don't worry. I'm not afraid of talking lions. Actually, it makes him kinda cute." She bent down, and began her examination.
She began with the feet - one of the common places for injuries to occur. Whipping out a notepad and paper, she began to jot down her observations. Front left paw - small contusion. Back right leg - minor bone fragment.
Moving her hand up, the soft glow of her chakra followed it up to the stomach of the lion, shimmering and slightly warm under her hand. It skimmed over the surface, the chakra half ontop, half underneath the skin. Bringing her other hand into play, Sakura swept her two hands along the neck of the animal, then down, and finally along it's head. Retrieving her pencil, she wrote,
Right eye - Optic nerve - Slight damage.
Standing up, Sakura dusted her hands off, minutely weakened by the chakra usage. She smiled up at Hikaru, but with some seriousness in her eyes. She wordlessly handed the pad to Hikaru, wondering what the other Kunoichis reaction would be. Kneeling down, she whispered to Kyoto, "You'll be okay. I can heal you, and then you can be on your way. Although....your partner here will probably end up dragging me along too." Her eyes creased into a happy smile, and she stood up, looking at Hikaru with saddened intent.

Hikaru gave a small laugh of amusement at Sakura's response, glad that the other kunoichi wasn't afraid. She watched closely as Sakura checked Kyouto for injuries, trying to keep her face clear of concern. Sensing her slight worry, Kyou just gave a roguish wink as the examination continued, easing her concern just a little. Honestly, Hikaru was really impressed by Sakura's abilities with medical jutsu since she knew how much work it took to learn it. Hikaru took the notepad from Sakura and read the contents and noted the look of Sakura's face. It was enough to cause for some concern, but not so much to be overly worried about. "So, can you fix Kyou-chan up Sakura? It's nothing too serious, right? I mean, if it's not too much trouble. I know Kyouto would really appreciate it, right boy? I would too." Said lion just curled up into a ball and laid at Sakura's feet. Hikaru could have sworn he had some sort of smile, almost like he heard something from Sakura that she didn't.

Sakura smiled at Hikaru, and winked. "Sure can, girl. It'll take about 10 minutes or so, since the eye is damaged. And..." She paused and looked at said 'Kyou-chan'. "I think Kyouto already knows whats happening." She gave Kyouto a well timed wink, before kneeling down. "We'll start with your eye, hm? That has the worst damage."
Summoning chakra with her left hand, she pressed it firmly over the lions left eye, pushing her chakra downward to the source of the problem. She hit it pretty quickly - a damaged channel that would be easy to heal. Pushing her chakra deeper, Sakura sent it into the channel itself, recreating cells and healing damaged ones. As soon as the task was done, she pulled back, and smiled at Kyouto. "How is it now?"
Not waiting for an answer, the kunoichi moved onto the animals left paw. The bruise was only small, and it wouldn't take long to heal. A minute or so? Summoning chakra to her hand, she hovered it over the swollen tissue and allowed her chakra to do the work. Her hand moved slowly around it, soft greenish blue radiating from it. The swelling immediatley reduced, leaving normal paw pad skin in its place.
Standing up, she moved to the other side of Kyouto, preparing to heal the chipped bone. This would be pesty to do, as Sakura would have to speed up bone growth. Holding the back leg with one hand, the other gathered chakra to it once again, soft pastel colours pulsing softly. She moved it over the leg, and found the injury was no longer there. She went over it again, but found no problems. She looked at Kyouto curiously, and stood up.
"Yeah, he's okay now, Hikaru." She said, patting her on the head affectionately. "He'll have better accuracy, and probably be even faster. Take care of him." You struck lucky. Shut up.

Hikaru breathed a mushroom sigh. "Thank you Sakura!" Hikaru sat down on a nearby mossy log as Sakura began her examination of Kyouto. To pass the time, Hikaru pulled out a kunai and began to play mumblety peg, a game that she had heard about being played with sticks, but she like to add risk. She balanced it on the tip on each knuckle and thread it between her fingers. As Sakura completed the examination of the eye, Hikaru became content to just balance to tip on her finger and when it began to fall over, would just send a minute burst of chakra toward the side it was falling to to put it back in upright position, which allowed her to keep her hand stationary. Kyouto purred a positive affirmation in answer to her question. Eventually Hikaru looked up at Sakura and noticed that she was already on the leg. She's pretty efficient. She noticed a curious look in her expression when she looked at Kyouto, who just returned the gaze with a expression of pure smugness. "Yeah, he's okay now Hikaru." Hikaru put the kunai away. "Thank you so much Sakura-chan!" She gladly received the pat on the head with a small smile. "I'll be sure to take care of him." Hikaru paused for a moment, unsure of what to say for a moment. "So, do you have any plans on what to do next?" Kyouto walked up and curled around Sakura's legs like a big house cat. Hikaru couldn't help but looked completely shocked. Lions hardly ever warmed up that much to an outsider, much less the rebellious Kyouto.

Sakura raised an eyebrow at the question. Next? Hm... "Well, Hikaru, I don't really know. Nothing at the minute, until your lion frees me." She smiled jokingly, bending down to stroke his head slowly. "Probably just going to wander around some more, get bored, fall over and knock myself out, the usual. Maybe I'll practice healing some more. There's probably some injured adventurers running around." She stood up, and attempted to step over Kyouto without falling over. Sending a short burst of chakra to her foot, she hopped over him, stumbling oh so slightly before standing upright once more. Stretching up, she ruffled Hikaru's hair again, in the same friendly and caring manner. "What about you? Still running round training? Looks fun..." Sakura looked distant for a minute, wondering what it would be like to be Hikaru. Running so wild and free..it must be great. She voiced these thoughts to Hikaru, before sinking into a thought induced daze again. Murmuring to herself softly, she said, "Hikaru, can we swap for a day? Be eachother? I would like to know what it's like to be as one with an animal, and with nature....I want to know what it's like to be a lioness...." She sighed and stood up. "Enough of my madness....tell me. Where do you be traveling to next?"

Hikaruu smiled at Sakura's joke. As Sakura hopped over Kyouto, he sat down and wore an expression that looked akin to pouting. Even sitting down, he head was almost up to Hikaru's. She smiled as Sakura reached up and ruffled her hair again and answered her question."It is fun. It's not so much training as it is just having a blast and running around without having to worry about much else." She paused once she noticed Sakura was seemed a bit distracted and murmured. She grinned as she heard what the other kunoichi said. If that's what she wanted, she'd get it!
"Well, nowhere in particular...but if you really want to see what its like Sakura, I can show you. Just wait a second." With that, Hikaru quickly bit her lip and made a few rapid handseals before slamming her fist on the ground. A plume of smoke arose, and a lion, albeit a smaller one than Kyouto, appeared. "I can even teach you Yuugou Henge if you want. You might want to get to know the lion a bit before you try it though..." Here Hikaru's tone became a bit softer and caring. "It requires a lot of trust of your partner. Lions are willing to open up, but they like to have fun first. The best way to do that is to just feel the thrill of living by just forgetting everything else for a short while for some fun." She smiled slyly, and her tone was similar to her look. "So...are you game?"
