Jutsu Name:Honoo Kabe no Jutsu
Type: C or B Rank, depending on the amount of chakra needed to be molded for the desired effect. The three foot version is a C-rank, but the effective barrier version is a B-rank.
Effects:
The user places both hands on the ground as if using a summoning jutsu. However, instead of the blood pact forming, a high-intensity fire goes out in a straight line like a wall. This is a defensive maneuver whose effectiveness coincides with the amount of chakra used. A lot of chakra will form an impenetrable wall. Some chakra will form a temporary barrier that will last for about twenty seconds. Just a little bit of chakra will form a quick, three foot wide wall, just enough to get out of the the way of an attack. There are several reasons that this fire wall is good for defense. Number one, it radiates a high amount of heat that causes burns, which eliminates any form of taijutsu attacks. Secondly, since it is done very quickly, the sudden flash of blazing fire blinds the attacker as if they had suddenly looked directly into the sun. The flames are also very difficult to see through, making it hard to hit the user accurately with shuriken or kunai. Beginners of the technique only have enough chakra control to maintain it for a short time, so in that situation it acts more like an instant flash of light that maintains itself for a short period of time, giving the user time to relocate their position or attack while their opponent is temporarily blinded. The reason they can attack during the blinding light? They simply remember where there opponent is, close their eyes or squint, and use a wide range attack in the direction of their opponent.
Many times when a novice is attempting to learn this jutsu, the result can be very messy with multiple burns to the skin that can yield a high amount of pain, or they set their clothing on fire. Due to this, beginners are often supervised by an older clanner with a bucket of water and burn cream in hand, with perhaps a spare set of clothing. These types of hazards dissappear with experience. However, if it is attempted without a good amount of concentration, it can still occur. Users must have at least a moderate attention span and be able to multi-task well enough to know what's going on while they are doing the jutsu instead of just being oblivious to their surroundings. This is necessary so that they don't accidentally set a team mate on fire, which can result in mission failure.
Kekkei Genki: This technique is taught to all members of the Shimetsuki clan, but an occasional non-clanner trusted by the clan is capable of learning and performing it.
